Joint échappement...

Bonjour,
j'ai un doute quant au sens de montage du joint entre le collecteur et le tuyau d'échappement.
Est-ce que la partie métallique se monte vers le haut ou vers le bas? (contre le collecteur ou contre le pot)

Bonjour,
je l'ai fait il y a 2ans mais je crois me rappeler que les faces des joints sont différentes et correspondent à la forme en creux, elle aussi différente, des sièges du collecteur et de la tuyauterie qui en repart.
me trompe-je?

Oh, oh.......this looks like it could go either way. So far, we have two for shiny-side exhaust, one for shiny-side manifold.

The donut shape sealing ring between the pipe flange and the iron manifold will most often have a metal cover on one side and uncovered fiber surface on the other side. This begs the question, which side up? I don't suppose it makes much difference either way. I wouldn't get into any argument about it, but John Twist recommends mating the fiber side to the iron manifold and the metal side against the pipe flange.

Merci beaucoup pour les info.... Je note l'url de mgaguru que je ne connaissais pas du tout.
Il ne me reste donc qu'à re-démonter l'échappement pour mettre ces joints correctement.... et mettre les rondelles que j'ai oublié d'installer.
